15 Best Games and Contests for a Home Party

1. Quiz with Penalties

This is the top game for a home party.

The host asks quiz questions, and the answer is always a NUMBER. If a participant is the closest to the correct answer, they get 1 point; if they are farthest, they perform a penalty.

Each round allows participants 2 minutes. Players write their answers on A4 sheets and, at the host's command, simultaneously display their answers (changes and additions are prohibited after this).

Before each round, the host or the players randomly draw a card with a penalty, which must be performed at the end of the round. Knowing the upcoming penalty increases the players' excitement and determination not to lose.

2. Straw Acrobats

For this contest, we'll need straws, about 30-40 of them. You can buy straws of different colors for each team.

In the beginning, the first pair of opponents takes one straw each and places it on the back of their hand, attempting to toss and catch it. But with each round, the number of straws increases, making it harder to catch. The winner is the one who catches the most straws without any drops.

3. Chicken foot

The host invites a guest to participate in the contest. A word (preferably difficult to spell) is whispered in their ear, or they are asked to draw a card with a word from a bag. The player starts writing this word on a sheet using a marker, held between their toes! The task for the other participants is to guess the word. The one who guesses the word first is the winner.

4. Fork Tentacles

Recognition of items with blindfolds. The task is to identify the item on the table in front of the player using forks in their hands. Each player has 2 minutes to guess as many items as possible. Asking guiding questions with 'Yes' or 'No' answers is allowed. It's important not to touch the items with hands, only with forks.

5. Quack Quack Game

All you need for this game is a pillow.

The blindfolded leader is given a pillow and all other participants sit around the room in random seats. When everyone is seated, the leader tries to find participants' knees using only the pillow. After finding them, the leader places the pillow on the knees and sits down.

The participant on whose knees the leader sits must say 'Quack Quack' in a different voice. When the leader hears the phrase, they guess on whose knees they've sat. If correct, the 'victim' becomes the new leader; if not, the game continues until the leader guesses their 'victim'.

6. Hercules

Each player is given a sheet of newspaper. The participants' task is:

  1. To take the unfolded newspaper by the end with the right hand.
  2. To extend the hand with the newspaper forward.
  3. On the host's command, crumple the entire newspaper into a fist without using the left hand.

This is a speed task. The winner is the one who first crumples the entire newspaper into a fist. Then, you can switch hands and repeat the game.

7. Elephant Attack

Place five overturned plastic cups on the floor for each player. Put an apple on top of each cup. Insert a tennis ball into the lower part of each pair of pantyhose.

Players put the pantyhose on their heads and, without using their hands, swing the leg with the ball, attempting to knock the apples off the cups. If a cup falls, it is picked up, the apple is placed back on top, and they start again.

The winner is the one who knocks off all their apples first.

8. Doo-Doo-Doo

A team member draws a card randomly from a bowl of prepared cards. Each card contains the title of a popular song. The player must sing this song, replacing all the words with "doo-doo-doo." When the team guesses the song, the player draws the next card. If they can't guess, the card goes back.  The team's task is to guess as many songs as possible in 1 minute. Then the second team takes on the competition. The winning team is the one that guesses the most songs.

9. Battle of the Balls

Attach a transparent bag with two raw eggs to each participant's waist using a string or tape, positioning it at knee level.

Standing with their legs shoulder-width apart and slightly squatting, a pair of players begin to move their hips, swinging the bag of eggs, trying to hit the opponent's eggs. The one whose eggs break is out of the game. Then the second pair is invited to the field, and the contest continues. The winners are the participants with surviving eggs (or at least one egg) who continue the battle until the victorious end.

10. Quick, Draw!

Open the Quick, Draw tool by Google through the link.

Each player on the team is offered about 6 consecutive tasks: "draw the specified item" within 20 seconds. A neural network will try to guess what you drew.

Don't forget to keep track of the neural network's guessed words and assign corresponding points to the players. The winner is the player or team with the highest total score.

11. Spoon Flip

Prepare the props for each participant: 2 tea spoons and 1 glass. Place one spoon on top of the other and put an empty glass next to them. The participant needs to hit the top spoon in such a way that it flips and falls into the glass. Successfully getting it into the glass is a point.

14. Spoon Race

On the command 'Start,' to lively music, the first participants rush to a table with two trays filled with tangerines (or any other fruits of choice). The number of tangerines on each tray should be the same. The team's task is to free their tray first.

When the first players reach their trays, they must pick up one tangerine exclusively with a spoon and carry it back to the team's zone. It's important to remember that touching the tangerine with hands is not allowed. If a tangerine falls, the player needs to pick it up with their hands, return to the tray, and try again. Upon reaching the finish line, the player must put the tangerine in a basket and pass the spoon to the next participant.

15. True or False

The host reads a statement, and the players have to determine if it's true or false. Answers can be written on paper for subsequent verification. If both teams give the same answer, no points are awarded to either team. A bonus point can be earned if a team decrypts a false answer and provides the correct one. The team with the most correct answers wins.
