How to decorate an apartment for the New Year

Soon it will be New Year, and we are all in a festive mood. So why not turn your apartment into a New Year's fairy tale? Especially since it's so easy to do.

Transparent balls

Transparent balls

You will only need transparent balloons, which are sold in craft supplies stores (for coloring), and everything else is likely to be found at home. Cut several branches from the Christmas tree where it will be inconspicuous. Look for different beads or beads among old jewelry and unnecessary Christmas decorations (beads and garlands). Carefully remove the fastening from the balloon and place branches and beads inside.
Starlight Night

An elegant festive table runner will help decorate the New Year's table without much expense. Buy spray paint and stencils in the form of stars of different sizes (you can make them yourself). Place the stencils on a solid-colored fabric in a random order, attaching them with tape. Spray paint the stars and let them dry. By the way, the runner can be washed in the machine and used more than once.
Door decoration

It's the small details that will help create a festive atmosphere in the house. Decorate the doors of kitchen cabinets or the dresser in the bedroom with pine cones. Simply take a silk ribbon about 25 cm long, make a loop, and attach it to the cone using a glue gun, then add a pre-made bow on top.
Night lighting

Such an elegant composition will adorn an open shelf, fireplace, or console and will remain relevant not only on New Year's Eve. It will help create a cozy atmosphere at home during long winter evenings. Select several small glass vases or use a set of regular wide-mouthed glasses. Fill them halfway with decorative colored stones, which can be purchased at florist shops or pet stores (in supplies for aquarium fish). Place classic tall candles in the center of each glass. You can choose the shade of the candles to match the color of the stones or opt for a contrasting color.
Paper garland

Paper garland

This simple and enjoyable activity will appeal to your little ones. Prepare paper cookie and candy cups and coarse ribbon that the paper won't slip on. Make a hole in the center of each cup and thread them onto the ribbon.
Bottle candle holders

Bottle candle holders

Empty glass bottles from water or wine can wonderfully replace candle holders on the table. Simply decorate them with decorative wrapping paper in silver or gold and tie a neat bow with velvet or satin ribbon. The combination of different shades of green looks especially beautiful.

Trim the edge of a paper bag with decorative scissors, cut another bag in half. If you have a shaped hole punch (for scrapbooking), make star-shaped holes along the top edge. Insert one bag into the other, pour a little sand into the bottom, and place candles in glass candle holders inside.
Christmas wreath

A Christmas wreath made from yew branches will complement any festive table setting and will stay fresh for a long time. Interweave the branches, forming a little nest, secure in several places with thread or florist wire, and place one or several candles in the center.

Try adding a few natural accents to your festive New Year's interior. For example, when decorating the Christmas tree, place miniature birds made from pinecones in several spots on the branches. You can embellish the birds with colored paper scraps, small fabric pieces, feathers, or simply paint the pinecones with acrylic spray paint. Cut the beak out of felt and use small beads for the eyes. Use a hot glue gun for assembly.
Wire hanger wreath

The base for the wreath is made from a wire hanger bent into the shape of a heart. Attach fir branches, golden stars, and foil-wrapped candies to the base. Wrap it all with decorative cord and hang it up.
Sweet treats

You can place New Year's gifts not only in decorative stockings but also in unusual woolen mittens. Simply sew a small loop to each mitten and tie a ribbon or cord to it. You can use these surprise-filled mittens to decorate the back of each chair around the festive table, placing candies, cookies, chocolate, fruits, or small souvenirs for your guests inside.
New Year's bells

New Year's bells

You can make these cute bells from small "cactus" flower pots. First, prime the surface with acrylic primer. Then, paint one half of the pot with red acrylic paint and the other half with gold. Once the paint is dry, draw snowflakes on the pots with gold or silver outline paint. Insert ribbons into the holes at the bottom of the pots to hang the bells.
Ice shelf

Ice shelf

After measuring the shelf along the edge, cut a long strip of paper or thin felt about 10-15 cm wide and trim it in the shape of icicles. Then, cut another strip of paper to match the surface of the shelf. Fold 2-3 cm on the edges and glue both pieces together. Place the "cover" on the shelf and arrange the items.
Snowman cover for chair

Snowman cover for chair

Measure the height and width of the chair back and cut a rectangle from white fleece, then stitch it on three sides. Cut a hat for the snowman from a piece of dense felt, as well as eyes, mouth, nose, and buttons. Attach all the details using fabric glue and put the cover on the chair. Tie a scarf from bright fabric.
