Weigh-in

difficulty level easy  number of players  2-20  props  scales

For this contest, you will need kitchen scales or, as a last resort, floor scales.  And of course, items for weighing. Ready to find out what and who weighs how much? Let's go!

Preparing for the game

If you have kitchen scales, prepare lightweight items for weighing. These can be any fruits, vegetables, candies, a toothbrush, shower gel, soap, perfume, a jar, a cup, etc.

Table game for the group Calibration weighing

If you only have electronic floor scales, you can suggest participants weigh themselves (though not everyone might like it) or choose items for weighing that are heavier and bulkier than those for kitchen scales: a watermelon, a flower pot, a blender, a frying pan, a table lamp, etc.

As you can see, you can weigh anything, the main thing is to plan it in advance and make a list of items.

How to play

  • The host shows the teams a object to be weighed, and they must estimate how much it might weigh and state the weight in grams.
  • Then, the host places the object on the scales and records the exact weight.
  • The participants' estimates are compared to the actual weight of the object, and the team whose value is closest to the correct weight receives 1 point.

"Edible" Variation of the "Weigh-in" game

This variation of the game is possible only with kitchen scales. As the name suggests, you need to choose only food products for weighing. These can be both tasty treats and foods with a specific taste, such as chili peppers, avocados, lemons. The difference in this game is that the losing team has to eat the weighed product. If the stakes are treats like Nutella, chocolate bars, marshmallows, the winning team can eat those products.
